After a leisurely morning at our hotel, we will have a light lunch before transferring to Furore for another painting session. Here, we can capture the light and shapes as seen from the terrace of the fantastic Hotel Bacco. This morning we travel to Amalfi for a painting session in the most famous town of the coast. Following lunch, we take a trip to Amalfi and visit the Paper Museum (Museo della Carta), where we discover the history of the ancient art of paper making. Located in a 14th century paper mill, this unique museum will tell the story of Amalfi's strong paper-making tradition through exhibits, artefacts and historic information.

We visit the excavations of Pompeii today in the company of a knowledgeable local guide. Here, we have the chance to make some quick sketches of the fascinating and truly unique place immortalised by the catastrophic eruption of Vesuvius in AD 79. The ruins and remains of Pompeii are staggering, and we take time to explore them properly. In the afternoon, we move on and explore Atrani, a quiet town located between two rocky hills on the coast. Its colourful houses overlook the sea and the beach, and here we may have time to draw the typical archways and doorways.

Today will be spent at leisure. What could be better on a busy special interest holiday than one day of free time, with which you can enjoy a little independent exploration? Wander around the charming towns, take an excursion to the surrounding islands or perhaps just relax at the hotel. However you choose to spend your day, we'll reconvene in the evening for an evening meal.

We transfer either by bus or ferry to Positano, which overlooks the sea. Here, we will enjoy another painting session. This charming village was a stopping point for Phoenicians and Greeks on their expeditions, and was also a favourite location for wealthy ancient Romans to build extravagant villas. Lunch will be at a restaurant by the beach and then in the evening, our meal will offer us a taste of authentic Italian pizza.
