The Amalfi coast in one of the most beautiful in the world, however, we think we can do better with a journey to Ischia, Naples answer to an island Eden.
Ischia is the largest of the islands off Naples, and even though its inhabited the island remains a remote sanctuary with picturesque beaches, abundant gardens and looming chestnut forests. As we travel around the island we reconnect with nature, we appreciate its beauty as we sing harmonies in the botanical Giardini Ravino and the gardens of La Moertella.
The region is synonymous with volcanic activity, and Ischia as a volcanic outcrop has one of the unique benefits of such a landscape. On its south-facing beach, there is a thermal spring, just one of the many things you’ll be able to enjoy on this tour of Ischia.
Upon arrival in Naples this afternoon we board a local ferry and cross the gulf to Ischia. Tonight we unwind as a group over dinner and drinks.
We begin our first full day in song, with an introductory group session. Following lunch we enter the luscious Giardini Ravino, a botanical blend of fruit trees, hanging vines, and exuberant flowers.
Our destination this morning is the Torre di Michelangelo, a towering Medieval structure which rises from the cliffs. This afternoon we visit the stunning Castello Aragonese, an island monument accessible via a long stone bridge.
The gardens of La Mortella take centre stage this morning. La Mortella is a renowned music venue, thanks to its open-air Theatre. We will use this opportunity to sing under the cerulean sky. The rest of the day is ours to explore.
Forio is Ischia’s second largest town. After touring its streets together, we pause for lunch and a local wine tasting. From here we continue to the hilltop village of Fontana, for a special singing session with a friendly Ischian choir. Bellissimo!
We tuck into a cookery class this morning, for a chance to taste some mouthwatering cuisine. Following a free afternoon we come together for
some pre-dinner singing. The perfect way to mark our final night.
We return to the mainland by ferry in time for our flight home.
