The Cinque Terre National Park offers spectacular views of 5 small, colourful towns that cling to the dramatic coastline. Each of towns have their own identity, easily accessible by a regular train service that travels along the coast. Staying at the Hotel Adriana in Monterosso, a former nunnery is set in beautiful grounds with tall palm trees, overlooking a magnificent valley and just a few minutes’ walk away from the beach.

.

Cinque Terre is perfect for colourful architecture and seascape painting. For walkers, the terrain is high hillwalking, along well defined pathways, with spectacular views.

Fly from London to Pisa airport. Transfer by private minivan to our hotel in Monterosso.

Day 2 - MONTEROSSO

This morning starts with a painting session at our hotel. In the afternoon there will be a chance to paint in Monterosso itself, famous for its beach but its eye-catching feature is the Monterosso Giant, a 14m high sculpture of King Neptune jutting out from the cliff face.
Hotel: Villa Adriana in Monterosso
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 - VERNAZZA

A short train ride will take us to Vernazza, a small picture-postcard fishing port. To get perfect views we will stop to paint from a spot high from where we can look down its tiny harbour with beach, tightly hugged by the church and town. The castle imposes its presence from high above.
Hotel: Villa Adriana in Monterosso
Meals; Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 4 - CORNIGLIA

Another short train ride takes us to Corniglia. On top of a promontory, Corniglia is the most rural of the Cinque Terre villages surrounded by vineyards and terraces, broadening both our artistic horizons and our palette.
Hotel: Villa Adriana in Monterosso
Meals; Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5 - FREE

Take a break on this painting holiday. You can relax or take a train to visit interesting places nearby such as Portofino or Genoa.
Hotel: Villa Adriana in Monterosso

Day 6 - MANAROLA

A train ride to Manarola, the oldest of the Cinque Terre towns. Cheerily painted, steeply terraced houses have long provided inspiration to artists. Today we will have a wine tasting with lunch and get to try the local Sciacchetrá wine.
Hotel: Villa Adriana in Monterosso
Meals; Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 7 - MONTEROSSO

We stay in Monterosso for a final painting session and free time for shopping and relax. Light lunch in hotel or local restaurant. Farewell aperitif followed by dinner in hotel. Hotel: Villa Adriana in Monterosso

Departure day and we say goodbye to Monterosso. After breakfast, transfer by private minivan to Pisa Airport.
